"Fuel up Front" Service

Avis is guaranteeing customers across the UK and Europe lower than pump price fuel when they opt for the car rental company's Fuel up Front service.

 

Fuel up Front allows Avis customers to pre-pay for a full tank of fuel when they collect their car and then return it empty, without worrying about paying over the odds for the service as Avis will charge less than the local pump price per litre for the full tank. However, if they return the car with the tank full, even after purchasing the Fuel Up Front option, Avis will refund them the tank charge, so they can be assured of a fair service.

 

"We introduced Fuel up Front in 2006, and over the last few days have seen a real increase in the uptake of the service as fuel prices continue to rise," says Daniel McCarthy, Commercial Director, Avis UK. "The service is convenient and with the current price of petrol, it is not just time-saving but also cost-saving."

 

With the credit crunch of the last six months, Avis has seen many more customers, particularly those living in cities, ditching or downsizing their own vehicles and renting as and when they need to.

 

"With fuel costs rising we expect to see many more people thinking twice about car ownership. Just downsizing your everyday vehicle can save you up to £6000 per year, and that's even with the cost of renting a vehicle every weekend," concludes McCarthy.
